ABOUT

Mayamiko is an architect in training, designer, artist and maker. Her goal has always been to learn and as such she has the philosophy that art and design as powerful conduits of narratives, provide endless opportunities to do so. Originally from Malawi and based in the United States, her interests are all forms of creating. Her architectural work has explored decolonisation, affordable housing and public space, while her other work has explored themes such as colour and light. Her most recent work includes her Bachelor's Thesis in Architecture entitled "Weaving the public and private - The Park" and an essay "Towards Decolonisation: The role of British notions of land in colonial Malaŵi" produced as part of summer research.
